Certain states
and provinces require business brokers to hold a real estate license. Other states require
business brokers to hold a real estate license if real estate is made part
of the sale. And last some states only require a real estate license with
real estate attached if the value of real estate is more than the value of
the business. We will do our best to help decipher each. States & provinces
that definitely require a real estate license not matter what...
- Florida
- California
- Arizona
- Michigan
- Minnesota
- Colorado
- South Dakota
- Washington
- Ontario, Canada
Assume all other states require
a real estate license ONLY if real estate becomes part of the sale. Real
estate becomes part of the sale on only about 5% of transactions and we can
show you a legal way to avert the issue when real estate is involved.
We recommend that every broker
eventually obtain a real estate license.
If wanting to broker outside of
the USA or Canada check with your local real estate licensing laws.
